Scott D. Camassar joined the Law Firm of Stephen M. Reck, LLC
in 2008, after almost eight years at the Reardon Law Firm, P.C., in New London, where he represented plaintiffs in all types of personal injury cases, followed by five years at Gordon, Muir & Foley, LLP in Hartford, where he represented plaintiffs and defendants in the full spectrum of civil cases including personal injury and wrongful death cases; construction accidents; defective product cases; dog bite claims; environmental litigation; fall down cases; road and highway defect cases; insurance coverage disputes; insurance fraud cases; medical malpractice litigation; auto and motorcycle accidents; municipal liability cases; negligent security claims; nursing home abuse or neglect cases; trucking accidents; uninsured/underinsured motorist claims; and appellate litigation, as well as mediation and arbitration. He has achieved a BV rating by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected by his peers to serve as an arbitrator of others’ cases.
Scott was born and raised in New London, CT and graduated with a B.A. in sociology, magna cum laude, from University of Connecticut in 1992. He then attended Western New England College School of Law, where he was an editor of the Western New England Law Review, and received his Juris Doctor in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut state and federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Scott has tried numerous cases to verdict on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants, securing compensation for injured clients and protecting the interests of clients who had been sued. He has prevailed in difficult cases including one in which he successfully defended a tractor trailer driver in a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the widow of a deceased road worker who was struck and killed on Interstate 95 near Stratford. Scott continues to try cases of various types and complexity. He handles numerous wrongful death lawsuits, including one
brought on behalf of the estate of a Norwich man who died after developing
gangrene in his legs, which has received widespread media attention including front-page coverage by the Hartford Courant.
Scott is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the New London County Bar Association. He is also a member of the CBA’s Resolution of Legal Fee Disputes Committee (2008). He is a frequent seminar presenter to attorneys and claim professionals on various topics including automobile injury cases and civil trial skills. You can
